Before you buy an at-home whitening kit, call Dr. Hansen to find out your teeth whitening options.  Using a home kit often leads to frustration and disappointment, because they just do not provide the dazzling results they advertise.

These lack-luster results are caused by the exact ingredient that is supposed to be working in your favor.  The whitening agent in an over-the-counter kit is not strong enough to produce significant whitening.  The length of treatment for these kits can last for days or even weeks.

Hydrogen peroxide is the activating agent for whitening tooth enamel.  Kits available in stores cannot legally contain the strength of hydrogen peroxide needed for meaningful whitening.  Professional strength whitening is only available with professional supervision to prevent damage to the teeth.  If hydrogen peroxide is too strong or left on the teeth too long, the enamel can become yellowed instead of white, and tooth sensitivity can occur.

Dr. Hansen can whiten your teeth in a shorter amount of time and provide up to 10 times brighter whitening.  One visit only lasts from 30 to 60 minutes but could require more than one visit, depending on the level of whitening needed for the desired results.
